Everyone says to pray for your husband and pray for your marriage, but coming up with the right words can be a challenge.
Like with so many other areas we commit to the Lord in prayer, our words can often become repetitive and we lose passion and purpose in our prayers simply because we don’t know what to pray or how to say it!
God’s grace is seen abundantly in prayer.
We see His grace, of course, in His invitation for us to come, to bring our requests before Him. But we see His grace, too, in His intercession for us.
Did you know that Jesus prays for you? He does! Jesus prays for Christians! The Bible tells us that Jesus prays for Believers to be kept from sin (John 17:15), that we would grow in holiness (John 17:17), and that we would be brought safely Home (John 17:24)!
And Jesus isn’t the only one praying for Believers. The Holy Spirit also intercedes on our behalf!
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words” (Romans 8:26 ESV).
God calls us to pray, and He equips us to do so!
One of my favorite ways to pray is to pray Scripture. (Some of my favorite books that use Scripture as the basis for prayer are shared here.)
For those of us who have struggled with praying intentionally and faithfully for our husbands and marriages, the following books are tremendous tools to focus our prayers and help us bring our requests to God.

Praying with you!
