Looking for ways to grow a grateful heart? These 10 verses about gratitude are a great place to start and perfect for you and/or your kids to memorize!
One of the best ways to retrain our minds and hearts is to meditate on Truth.
When I’m struggling to be thankful, I need something to replace the negative thoughts.
God’s Word tells us to “Give thanks in all circumstances,” and though we always have so much for which to be thankful, many times, my heart doesn’t feel thanks.
As I’ve been helping my kids develop an attitude of gratitude, I’ve found that simply thinking of something good instead of complaining is helpful. But even more powerful, is replacing the ingratitude or complaint with God’s Word.
When we complain, deep down our hearts are really saying that God isn’t good or God doesn’t care enough about me to give me what I want. Or maybe the belief is that God loves that other person more than me. Whatever it is, that complaining thought is a lie and must be replaced with Truth.
As we memorize these with our kids, let’s pray for God to work in the hearts of our children, turning bitterness into gladness and complaining into joy!
Let’s pray for our children’s faith to grow, and let’s look for opportunities to help them see God’s abundant blessings all around us.
