Scriptures to pray during the halloween season

Whether you have chosen to abstain from halloween or participate, one thing is true — we all need to be praying.

The topics on which we can pray during halloween are endless, but here is a place to start.

During halloween, pray for –

1. Protection :: With the increased pranks, criminal and licentious activity, and occult practices on and around this time, pray for God’s physical and spiritual protection over our children and families.
2. Deliverance :: Pray for God to deliver those who are in bondage to sin and fear. Pray that people who satan holds captive and deceived, including those who deny God and His Son and those who mock the name of Jesus, will be saved! Pray that God will free them from their bondage, open their eyes and ears and hearts to Jesus and that they will be saved! Pray for light and life to triumph today over darkness and death.
3. Gospel Advancement :: Pray that God will use Christians as a bright light on this day of darkness, that through activities and appointments, the name of Jesus will be proclaimed and that many will come to know Christ as their Savior on this day!

Scriptures to pray during halloween –

One of the most effective tools we have in prayer is God’s Word. Start with praying some of these Scriptures on and around halloween —

• Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually. They make their tongue sharp as a serpent’s, and under their lips is the venom of asps. Selah  Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have planned to trip up my feet. The arrogant have hidden a trap for me, and with cords they have spread a net; beside the way they have set snares for me. Based on {Psalm 140:1-5}
• Lord, it is easy to become afraid as we look at how prevalent evil is in our world and the power it holds. But God, YOU are greater! You are far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else–not only in this world but also in the world to come. And though I live in the world, I do not wage war as the world does. The weapons I fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. In your strength, Lord, I will demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and I take captive each and every thought to make it obedient to Christ. My life is hidden with Christ in you, God, so help me to fix my eyes on things above, not on the things that are on this earth. • You have told us, Lord, to overcome evil with good. Show us how to do that in practical ways. Help us to fix our minds on you and your goodness, not on the evil that is before us. May our lives be a living testimony to your goodness, Lord, and may our lips proclaim your forever love. {Psalm 107:1, Romans 12:21}
• Lord, you have given us a new commandment – love one another just as you love us. Empower us to love others well, Lord. Let love be the sign that we are your disciples. {Based on John 13:34-35}
