You can pray faithfully and full-of-faith for your kids.
- Even if you don’t know how.
- Even if you’re busy and overwhelmed and feeling defeated.
- Even if your kids are brand new babies, out of the house, or anywhere in between.
- Even if your prayer life has been up and down.
- Even if you’re struggling to believe God can and God will.
Mama, you can pray for your kids. No matter what your life circumstances are — you can, and I want to help you.
Five years ago I hosted a blog challenge — 31 days of praying God’s Word for the hearts of our kids — and thousands of you participated.
Born from my own need and fanned into flame by yours, we sought God faithfully and full-of-faith on behalf of our children.
Since then, blog posts on praying the Scriptures for our kids have multiplied by the hundreds, and praise God for the work He is doing to lead parents into prayer for their kids. But my fear is that even as we pin more posts, we pause to pray less.
We’re distracted, disinterested, defeated. We are tired.
We run the gamut of emotions and experiences, but if there is one thing that unites us, it is this :: our kids need us to be praying for them.
Pulling our kids close before school and gathering around the table at dinner provide great opporutnities to pray, but our kids also need us interceding on their behalf in a deeper and more consistent way.
“The battle for our children’s lives is waged on our knees. When we don’t pray, it’s like sitting on the sidelines watching our children in a war zone getting shot at from every angle. When we do pray, we’re in the battle alongside them, appropriating God’s power on their behalf. If we also declare the Word of God in our prayers, then we wield a powerful weapon against which no enemy can prevail” (Stormie Omartian).
Moms, we need to be praying for our kids. So let’s start together.
