Courtney, over at Women Living Well, is kicking off a new series on her favorite marriage and motherhood quotes, and I thought I’d join in the fun.
Books and blogs and words have been my mentors in every season of life, and I have found great encouragement in my role as wife and mom through the Word of God and through the words of others.
When I decided to join Courtney’s link up, it took me all of two seconds to decide on which quote I would share. This one hangs by my kitchen sink. Take time to read it slowly and let the words sink in. I pray that it encourages your heart the way it has mine.

“How can it be a large career to tell other people’s children about the rule of three, and a small career to tell one’s own children about the universe?
How can it be broad to be the same thing to everyone, and narrow to be EVERYTHING to someone?
No. A woman’s function is laborious but because it is GIGANTIC, not because it is minute.
I will pity Mrs. Jones for the hugeness of her task; I will never pity her for its smallness.”
(G. K. Chesterton)
Mom, you’re doing a good job. What you do matters for eternity.
I’m praying for you today, Mama. May you know the ever-present help of our sustainer God!
